Every day is Earth Day at RPP Containers

RPP Containers loves sustainability

On Thursday, April 22nd, we look forward to the 51st celebration honoring our home, Earth. As most of us know, Earth Day is an annual event held across the globe to show support for environmental protection and sustainability. At RPP Containers, environmental sustainability is, and has always been, one of our golden rules since the company was created in 1998. Our commitment to this rule comes from providing reusable and recyclable bulk containers and recycling and refurbishing those same containers. RPP Containers is excited to continue this cycle and help companies reduce their carbon footprint one container at a time.

New Bulk Containers

With our work over the last few decades, RPP Containers has been able to help thousands of companies find sustainable and environmentally-friendly solutions for all kinds of applications by supplying reusable and recyclable bulk containers. These containers, made from high-performance polymers, are extremely heavy-duty and designed to maximize the amount of product that can be loaded into a container. Loading a container to its capacity reduces the total number of containers needed for shipping. Studies show that reusable plastic bulk containers have an improved carbon footprint of 30% compared to similar single-trip/one-time-use packaging, such as wooden pallets or cardboard boxes. Therefore, with their heavy-duty structure, plastic bulk containers can be reused repeatedly during shipping and storage applications while simultaneously reducing the overall carbon footprint of your material handling system.

Recycling bulk containers

Here at RPP Containers, we are committed to keeping plastic containers out of landfills and reducing our environmental impact. We have a saying around here that goes “Refurbish the Best, Recycle the Rest” pertaining to our recycling/refurbishing program. In 2019 alone, RPP Containers recycled over 30,000 pounds of plastic per week which amounted to over 1.5 million pounds of plastic for the entire year. How? When companies no longer need their broken or obsolete HDPE containers, we purchase these containers at the best market rates. We will do one of two things, either grind them up to remanufacture the plastic into new products or find them fit for repairs to resell them and continue the life cycle. If the containers are turned into regrind, a portion of the regrind is used to make new containers. These new containers are sold under our DuraGreen brand and will allow the cycle to start all over again. By recycling or having your plastic bulk containers repaired, you avoid the landfill costs, make money on your old containers and help the environment.

Environmental sustainability

With Earth Day fast approaching, RPP Containers wants to show its support and daily dedication to environmental sustainability. If you are interested in being a part of RPP’s mission to reduce your carbon footprint by recycling or repairing your HDPE containers, please give us a call to connect with an experienced sales representative on how to proceed with this process.
